Kick off the 2017-2018 season celebrating Race for the Puck's 5th anniversary and special guest Willie O'Ree's birthday! Whether you like to walk, run, inline skate, skateboard or use your wheelchair, you can show your support for the Columbus Ice Hockey Club at this year’s Race for the Puck 5K, to be held at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017 at Dodge Recreation Center and Park near downtown Columbus.
The Race for the Puck 5K is a fun and healthy community event that supports the Columbus Ice Hockey Club, a member of the National Hockey League’s “Hockey is for Everyone” organization. Hockey is for Everyone supports non-profit youth hockey organizations that are committed to offering children of all backgrounds opportunities to play hockey.
Not just concerned with on-ice development, the Columbus Ice Hockey Club is devoted to developing life skills, such as teamwork, responsibility, and leadership, in its members. As a division of the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, the club has served over 40,000 youth since 1999. Many of its participants have graduated high school and received academic scholarships to universities, including The Ohio State University and Miami University.
Proceeds from Race for the Puck will be used to help grow the Columbus Ice Hockey Club program and provide assistance for current members.
Race for the Puck will include skateboarding, inline skating, running, walking and wheelchairs. There will be other activities at the Dodge Skate Park and outdoor rink throughout the day.

Girls and boys of all ages are invited to try roller hockey. Instructors will be ready with all equipment needed. All you need to bring is comfortable shoes..to participate in our roller hockey clinic click here
