Each team will be comprised of two (2) goalies and Thirteen (13) skaters.
Players registering for the spring program will be placed on a team UNLESS their skating is such that they will be a hazard to themselves and others. Players needing additional skating skills will be referred to our Developmental Programs.
Players will be asked to attend a mandatory evaluation for skills.
Based on this information the players are placed on teams. Every effort is given to create teams at each rink location that are equally competitive. To make the season as enjoyable as possible for all those participating, CARPOOLS and TEAM REQUESTS may not be honored. All of your skill clinics will be at the rink where you  registered. You will play home and away games with the teams in your division at  both IceForum locations. All players will participate in a once a week USA Hockey ADM skills clinic run by a member of our professional coaching staff and assisted by our head and assistant team coaches.   Players will attend the clinic for their birth year.  Teams may have 1-2  games per week, with the exception of the mite division, they will play 2 games on Saturday.  If there is a weeknight game, it will be at your home rink. Weekend games may be home or away.
Players may be moved around during the scrimmages to ensure teams are of even skill level.
1)     To introduce and promote the game of hockey and improve the overall physical fitness of all participants.
2)     Promote the sport of ice hockey as a family sport and to promote the personal confidence of each participant.
3)     To teach the game of ice hockey so that it can be played competitively and safely.
4)     To make the sport of ice hockey a fun and learning experience.
The IceForum’s SPRING HOCKEY 4 X 4 will give you the chance to continue and refine your hockey skills and have fun in a cool facility during the heat of the summer!
The 4 x 4 spring league is a recreational league. The program is designed to provide opportunities to play for enjoyment, fitness and fellowship! Skill development and team concepts are stressed rather than winning. This is a non-checking league.  All games will be played by regular USA Hockey rules. Major change from fall hockey will be four players on the ice instead five. If one team receives a penalty there will be a four on three (4x3) power play, instead five on four (5x4). If another penalty occurs during the existing penalty there will be a five on three (5x3) power play. When first penalty ends it will be 5x4 until the next whistle. If no whistle at this time it will be 5x5. At the end of the next whistle the teams will go back to 4x4. This is so no team ever has less than 3 players on the ice.
All of our coaches are volunteers. If you would like to participate as a coach, please go to our website, www.iceforum.com and fill out an application. All Coaches are required to have current USA Hockey certification for the level/division they are coaching. USA Hockey coaching seminars are usually held locally.
