Welcome! 09/01/2012 Welcome to the web home of the Seymour Soccer Association! ...
Spring 2019 Registration
Registration for the 2019 season is now open!! A huge thank you to our incoming registrar and out going registrar for volunteering your time to make this possible.
Travel players must be registered by March 10, 2019 to avoid a late fee. We will determine the teams we register with CJSA based upon the enteries receive by March 10. In-house registration will close a few weeks later (date to be announced). Do not wait to register or your player might not have a team to play on, and we hate turing kids away.
Returning players are to use the played in the Fall or Winter forms. New photos are not needed to be uploaded at this time.
New players are to use the new player registration form. A head shot (photo of the school photo is fine) are required. If a player has not played for Seymour before, a copy of the birth certificate must be uploaded at the time of registration.
We are in need of volunteer coaches for the in-house teams. Players were turned away this past Fall because not enough people volunteered. No experience is necessary. We have a great Coaching Director and fabulous In-House directors who will help ensure new coaches are prepared and do great. If you are going to be at practice and the games, then you have the time to volunteer. The success of youth soccer in Seymour depends on the support of volunteers.
If you want to coach/be a team manager or are a returning coach, please sign up via the coach registration page. This is a CJSA requirement.
Please bear with us as we are still learning the ins and outs of the new site. Soon, our webpage will fully be transfered over. Until then, you may recieve duplicate emails as we are trying our best not to leave anyone off the email list.
We hope this message finds you well. Thank you to our volunteers, players, and families as it has been yet another fun fall!
Please note that all SSA practices at Gary Park and Seymour Middle School will soon cease because fall is here and daylight hours are getting shorter. But there is good news -- SSA will again have practices under the lights!
Beginning on Tuesday, October 2, all In-House Program Practices will be held at Matthies Field (190 Silvermine Road).
Also, beginning on Tuesday, October 2, all Travel Program Practices will be held at Matthies Field.
will still be on the regular fall team schedule of one time per week from 6:15pm to 7:10 pm at Matthies. Due to the limited dark parking area, it will be key to begin and end practice on time to allow for the transition from In-House to Travel practices. The parking lot should be empty by 7:20 pm so to allow for the next practice session to arrive. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
In-House Practices will end the week of October 15 -- so, final In-House practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday night of that week. Games will continue on Sundays until the end of the season as previously scheduled and posted on the SSA website.
Please contact In-House Directors Tarra Andrews at email@example.com or Chris Dicostanzo at firstname.lastname@example.org with any In-House Program practice questions.
TRAVEL PRACTICES... will be held at Matthies Field from Oct. 3 until the end of the travel season as follows:
Tuesdays from 7:30 – 9:00 pm
Thursdays from 7:30 – 9:00 pm
Please contact Travel Director Dave Holmes at email@example.com with any Travel Program practice questions.
Thank you. It is of great importance for our players to regularly attend practices to continue individual and team development. See you at Matthies Field!
Welcome to the web home of the Seymour Soccer Association! The SSA Board asks that you visit our site frequently as this will be the centralized resource for information. Please check back regularly for news, scores, weather updates, coach and family materials, schedules, directions, registration information, and much more.
The mission of SSA is to provide a means of recreation to all the children of Seymour while promoting the sport of soccer and developing the skills of individual players. SSA’s vision is to create and encourage an environment consistent with good sportsmanship, physical fitness, respect, team play, and having fun.
SSA believes that youth sports should construct a foundation of confidence and team collaboration that youngsters can transfer to their lives. SSA is also proud to partner with Academica Futebol Club(AFC), a company composed of experienced soccer professionals that support SSA's volunteers and share SSA's goals.
As the great coach John Wooden said, “Sports do not build character. They reveal it.” It is my hope that Seymour’s young people will indeed reveal their character and realize the joy that participating in soccer brings.
Thank you. I look forward to continued success as well as the relationships to be made out on the pitch!
