McMorran Pavilion Update

Dear Fellow Hockey Families,

We would like to fill you in on the current happenings with the Pavilion. Last Wednesday PHMHA presented to the McMorran Authority our business plan for taking on ownership of the Pavilion. Our business plan is very solid and will work if the city chooses not to continue with ownership of the facility. Over the past few months we have gained overwhelming community support and this support only continues to grow daily. On Wednesday, August 19th SC4 will present to the McMorran Authority their business plan for taking over the pavilion and turning the building we have always known as the "Jr. Arena" into their gymnasium. I encourage each and every one of you, your friends, family members and every one that you know who resides in the Blue Water Area to reach out to the McMorran Authority Members, SC4 College Trustees, and the Port Huron City Council and to share your thoughts and what this will mean to our community if SC4 were to take ownership of the Pavilion. Decisions madeby the groups listed below will be the result of public favor or opposition.

Sincerely,

PHMHA Board of Directors

Sponsorship Options

Dear PHMHA Families,

As we wrap up our business plan to propose to the McMorran Authority and the Port Huron City Council we would like to let you know what has been done so far. We have been working nothing short of 7 days a week for the past 6 weeks preparing our proposal to purchase the pavilion. In short, there are capital improvements that we must address and show that we have gained the support from our community to do so. In the past 48 hours since we kicked off our fundraising efforts for our capital improvement plan we have received nearly $40,000 in donations from just a handful of local residents/businesses. This is just the beginning as it will spread like wildfire. Below is our Capital Contribution Form. If you can think of anyone that would like to be part of what promises to be an exciting time for hockey in Port Huron please have them step forward and make a pledge. We have specific options available below however, we are open to amount to go toward our capital contributions. It can be anywhere from $25 to ---, well you get the point. The more support that we can show, the greater the chances are that we will acquire the pavilion. Owning the pavilion will open the door to other possibilities such as open skate, tournament, more ice for house teams amongst other benefits. Please view the sponsor sheet below and make a donation if you can. The future of hockey in our community is dependent on each and every one of us.
