2018 YAC Boys Box Lacrosse K-8th grades

Box lacrosse originated in Canada and is a version of lacrosse traditionally played indoors on the turf of an ice hockey rink. The goals are smaller, there are fewer players, there is no offsides and long poles are not permitted. The confined rink space helps develop a players quick decision making and stick skills, finishing skills because of the smaller goal and overall teamwork--everyone plays offense and defense..

When:     8 Wednesday night sessions from Sept 19th- Nov 14th (no session Oct 31st)

K-3rd       6:00-7:00

4th-8th    7:00-8:00

Location:    The Ice Rink at Shrub Oak Park, 3800 Sunnyside Street, Shrub Oak

Cost  - $60

Who can attend:  We'd like to cap each group at 30 players per division to maximize playing time and because of the limited rink size. Boys K-8th who's families are YAC members. This is a great opportunity for players to sharpen their skills and have some fun and keep a stick in their hands in the Fall.

Program Structure:  There are no set teams or practices. Each week sticks will be placed in the middle of the rink and randomly tossed into piles to divide players.  Coaches will be there to help coordinate and instruct and help run the activities and encourage kids to have fun.
