Hello CIHC Families- A couple quick announcements.... Registration...
Kenneth Ethan Kohner

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the untimely passing of beloved former CIHC player and current alumnus Kenneth Ethan Kohner or ‘K-Dog’ on September 13, 2018. Ethan was a bright young man with an incredible future ahead of him who was a friend to all. He was loved by his teammates and coaches for his infectious energy, quick wit, calm demeanor, team-first attitude, leadership, and tireless effort. He will be remembered fondly by us all we extend our thoughts and prayers to his family Carrie, Lincoln, and Kali. As a club, we will think of a way to best honor Ethan and his legacy both on and off the ice.  For now please join with us in remembrance of a young man who left a lasting legacy on this program and in the lives of everyone who knew him. 


A memorial service this Sunday 16 September at 2:00pm at Asbury United Methodist Church South at 4760 Winchester Pike, Columbus, OH 43232 Hockey jerseys or apparel preferred.

IIHF Girls Hockey Weekend Oct. 5-7th 2018

The World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend is a global opportunity for girls to try out hockey as a new sport. Thousands of participants took part in the editions since 2011.
The next edition will take place on the weekend of Oct 5-7th 2018. Mark your calendar and make sure to join CIHC, CRPD, and COGH
 for the 8th annual World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend. Make the ice time ready for the weekend of 6-7 October 2018 and register your event!

The World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend is an event to promote ice hockey for women and girls. Interested, potential players of all ages can try out ice hockey for free all around the world and get the chance to join a club.

CBJ Foundation Equipment Sale – Sept 16
The annual CBJ Foundation equipment sale will be held on September 16 from 12-4pm at Chiller North. Donated equipment will be sold at affordable prices in an effort to eliminate barriers to play. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into the central Ohio youth hockey community. Families are encouraged to donate outgrown, gently used or new equipment to a Chiller location between now and Sept 16 and will receive a voucher redeemable for 2 tickets to a Blue Jackets preseason game. The NHL Green Net will be traveling to Chiller North Sept 1-15, fans are encouraged to take a photo of them donating their equipment in the NHL Green Net and tag #NHLGreen and #CBJ to win monthly prizes.

Columbus Ice Hockey Club

CIHC is one of 39 NHL Hockey is For Everyone programs and is affiliated with the Columbus Blue Jackets organization. We serve over 3,000 youth per year in our Learn to Play Hockey, Learn to Skate, and hockey team programs, with more than 65% of our participants being minority and more than 25% are female. 

CIHC started in 1999 and focuses on providing on-ice and off-ice opportunities for youth in the Central Ohio area. In partnership with the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, the NHL, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, CAHA, the Chillers, and CCYHA, CIHC has been providing year-round ice skating and ice hockey instruction for more than 27,000 program participants. We also provide off-ice programming for club participants in the areas of conditioning, academic support, violence prevention, and community service.

  • Registration for the 2018-2019 season is now open!  Be sure to get your spot for the season.  The new processes for Equipment Bank and Scholarships are also live.
  • RACE FOR THE PUCK - mark your calendars for October 7, 2018 to kick off the season with Race for the Puck.  Below is the link to sign up to help out - we need lots of help to pull this off.  Watch for registration information soon.
